Seating, Beds, Boot & start of Kitchen, Toilet and Shower

OK,Been a while, but been busy on the van none-the-less. Van passed it's MOT without much mither (advisary on handbrake which needs tightening-up a touch).

Been able to do some bobbing about in it more importantly though, fetching the big sheets of timber, worktop & stuff for my next phase of the build, which is boarding off the rear/garage area, building the seats/beds etc. Got up to Prescott last weekend too, where I picked up a nifty on-board water tank (70litres) from a very nice guy off ebay for the bank-busting price of £10!

Sorted another leak too, which was coming in through the power cable from the solar-panel. For some reason I decided to use hot-glue to seal the drill-hole and cable, which became rigid when set and didn't allow for expansion & contraction of the tin roof.

I've made 2x storage lockers under side bed for duvet etc..

Underside of seat pulls out to make double bed.

I've put a small castor on the back of the frame to make it easier pulling out 

and rubber feet on the front face to keep in place when deployed.

Managed to fit the TV in before the seating

Bluetooth/Handsfree/wireless iPod ICE working a treat..

removal of emergency ambulance switches

Started lining the fibreglass walls with van-lining/headliner material

A rough, loose-fitting of the kitchen/shower positions

Starting to take shape........

Cut a radius on the end panel using a drum of twin & earth cable!

Edged all the cut panels using iron-on edging strip from B&Q.

Big Walnut panel here is B&Q cabinet end panel, about £10.

The tall slim one jointed to it is just a kick board from the same range,

faced/edged with the iron-on edging.

I cut the off-cuts from this to half the width again & stuck them on the front of the

pull-out bed panel to give it more of a 3d feel and also hide some fixings.

 

Refinished the fridge door with the same stuff I did the upper cupboards with.
The Eberspacher diesel heater nozzle now blows-out into centre of van.

Young Josh put in some hard graft to get all the ambulance stickers off......

Rough-cut of memory foam mattress, which transforms from the modular bench seating.

Bed pulls out and converts using seat cushions & backrests in about 30 seconds.

Side arm rests will dounle as pillows.

Memory Foam panels back in place as seating unit.

On the hunt for a sewing machine next, to knock up my covers......

The vertical kickboard forms a 'Modesty Panel', giving privacy from an open side van door without

getting in the wayof the TV when sat/lying watching at night....
